The Necessity to consistently prepare for Death

Allah states:

“Every Soul shall experience Death.”

(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.3, V.185&Chpt.21, V.35)

al-Muqaddimah/Prelude

1446/1447, AH (2005, CE) had been a Somber-Time for me. As I had turned Age-44/45 on the Islāmic-Calendar (Age-43 on the Gregorian-Calendar): I was the Same-Age my Father was the Year I was born (back in 1402, AH/1982, CE). This affected me deeply, as per truly at-Tafakkur (Reflection), at-Tadabbur (Introspection), etc. regarding how much Life I’ve lived versus how much Life I’ve left to live.

al-Mawt/Death: The Bidāyah/Ending of al-Hayāt/Life

Death comes to us all. However, it matters not why and/or when we die: it’s how we die. And, I do not mean how by what Circumstances under which we died. I’m exclusively referring to what: State, Condition, Position with Allah (Creator/Lord of the Universe) at the time of Death which will be the most important.

This is how/why Muhammad (Peace be upon them warned:

“You’ll be judged via your Last-Deeds firstly.”

(an-Nawawī)

This means that our Final-Acts on Earth will undoubtedly be amongst our Most-Important Acts. This is how/why the Muslim must always be focused on having Positive-Thoughts, Positive-Feelings/Emotions, Positive-Motives, Positive-Actions, Positive-Influences, Positive-Company, Positive-Earnings, etc. Because, in All-Truthfulness/Honesty: none of us really know when we’re going to go.

Apathy is worse than Ignorance

Sadly though, Humans have allowed ash-Shaytān/Satan deceive us, letting ourselves think/feel that Death is really that “distant”: Death is rite upon our Necks. It’s exclusively the Mercy-Of-Allah which preserves Human-Life. The Human-Being is such a Strange-Creature: they witness&observe Death everyday, but yet audaciously/arrogantly think they’ll dwell within ad-Dunyā/the Mundane forever.

Death is more than just Dying

Although most often, Death is viewed via the Lens of the End of Mundane-Existence: Death does only manifest That-Way. Death comes in Various-Forms:

Death of a Friendship

Death of a Partnership

Death of Familial/Kinship-Ties

Death of a Sexual-Relationship

Death of a Job/Career

Death of an Opportunity

Death of an Ambition

Death of a Season

Death of a Trend

Death of a Culture

Death of a Language

Death of a Nation/Country

Death of a Regime/Empire

Death of Good-Looks

Death of Vitality

Death of Interest

Death of a Desire

Death of Normalcy

etc.

Each and all of the aforemention serve as a Tadhkirah/Reminder, that there’s absolutely nothing via ad-Dunyā/the Mundane which is permanent. There’s Things, Persons, Interactions, Events, Happenings, Eras, etc. which we see rise&fall on a Daily. The Maslahah/Purpose behind this: it’s how Allah sends us Āyāt/Signs, so that we’re always recognizing/accepting the Reality that we’re never meant to reside via ad-Dunyā forever. Eventually, we all gotta leave up outta here. It’s literally just how Allah describes al-Ardh/Earth:

“All whom’re upon it shall perish.”

(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.55, V.26)

Even as per at-Tanzhīr/Observation of the Natural-World: the Seasons for example…

…Allah consistently tells of how Allah causes Plant-Life to die-off and then descends Rains from the Sky to bring Life back to the Earth after causing Death.

(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.2, V.164; Chpt.16, V. 65; Chpt.30, V.50; Chpt.41, V.39; Chpt.43, V. 11)

To embrace Death: it’s to recognize/accept that ad-Dunyawiyyah/Mundane-Life, via Earth, is precisely how Allah describes it:

“The Enjoyment-Of-Illusion”

(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.3, V.185; Chpt.57, V.20; Chpt.64, V.64)

Facing Death is never and will never be an “Easy-Thing”. It’s truthfully/honestly Scary-As-Hell. It’s the End of all we’ve ever known via ad-Dunyā for ourselves personally…there’s no going/coming back from Death. Death is literally the Only-Thing every Human will experience regardless of how long/how short one’s Mundane-Life was, regardless of Religion, regardless of Societal-Status, regardless of Political-Power, regardless of the Amount of Personal-Possessions, regardless of Gender, regardless of Ethnicity/Culture, etc. We all gone die.
