This was a Khutbah which I did on Jumād-ith-Thānī 13th, 1444, A.H./January 6th, 2023, C.E. The Topic/Subject was about al-Mawt/Death. Originally, my Khutbah-Niyyah/Motive was different. But, then, on my Way to a Masjid/Mosque via Uber: I saw Several-Cemetaries & then a Mobile Funeral-Procession. Upon seeing this: I immediately switched my Khutbah-Subject/Topic.

I gave This-Khutbah titled “The Tadhkirah/Reminder of al-Mawt/Death on Shawwāl 15th, 1444, A.H./May 5th, 2023, C.E.

I truly believe that Allah caused me to see what I’ve aforementioned, in order to introspect/reflect upon my own Mortality & to remind Others of their own Mortality. It was a Necessary-Sense of Eerie-Urgency, for me to give a Khutbah about Death. The Reason how/why is because it’s a Bitter-Subject…no one actually wants to demise. Even at the Time-Of-Death, People want to live. Even those whom’re Suicidal: they don’t want to die, but rather they want their Suffering to die.
Death is something which Most-Persons aren’t comfortable addressing, because honestly most of us don’t take interest in preparing for Death. There’s a Particular-Flaw via Humanity, which Allah has embedded within our Fitrah/Nature: each of us actually subconsciously think/feel we’re going to dwell via ad-Dunyā/the Mundane forever, in spite of the Fact that Death occurs all the Time & People die everyday. We never want to recognize/accept the Reality that we’ll all face the Fate-Of-Death, until it’s our Turn. But, by then it’s too late.

Also, after Death: we’ll exist via a Realm known as al-Barzakh. Barzakh actually means “Border”, “Barrier”, etc. The Barzakh separates the Living from the Dead. It lies between ad-Dunyā/the Mundane & al-Ākhirah/the Hereafter. Then, via Yawm-il-Qiyāmah/the Day-Of-Standing: we’ll be resurrected & made to attend the Court-Of-Allah, in which They’ll judge all amongst al-Jinn/Fire-Beings as well as al-Ins/Human-Beings, as per what we used to do.
